We eventually got into some snow on the drive back. Ramsey wanted a picture of him holding some snow. Not going to happen often in Florida.
We realized by the snow capped mountains, that we made a good decision to not go on the original plan.
That night we stayed in a motel in Buena Vista. We watched some football when we got back to the room. After the game, I found Top Gun on. Great bachelor’s movie, so I watched it. Friday morning, we started headed back to Denver for the last leg of the trip. The 14’ers outside of Beuana Vista were beautiful with the new snow on them.
Ramsey had an astute observation while he was on the phone with Lara that morning on the drive back. We were every stranded motorist’s dream come true. Three Eagle Scouts and Engineers all in one car. Although the trip was pretty much nothing like I planned, we all still had a great time. It was nice getting to visit with Ramsey and Chris. We had some interesting conversations. Chris and Ramsey had never met before, and I believe they found they have quite a lot in common. Even though I didn’t get my manly backpacking trip, I still got to go to my favorite place in CO, and I got to share my last days of single hood with some of my favorite people.
